In a stubborn mood , I can be an inspiration for any ass , but some mules still love me.
THINGS I'VE HEARD
"If you need to shave, and you still collect baseball cards, you're gay. If you're a kid, the cards are keepsakes of your idols. If you're a grown man, they're pictures of men."
Breakfast started with a piece of fruit and ended with bunches of other good stuff. When we got to the convention we encountered some super heroes including my fave Robin. We then visited my friend Brian who had to be the only person wearing a sweatshirt in San Diego. He owns Super 7 and I love him and depend on him for so much in my collecting adventure.In-N Out was our lunch destination.Their cheeseburgers and fries are awesome. After lunch we headed back to the convention to the Funko Booth for the raffle drawing and meeting up with other funatics where petting the Sleestak became a daily routine.Thats Bo the mountain man and super nice guy with the beard.Dinner was at Dick's Last Resort and while waiting outside for our groups table Ron stuck his tongue out and I got Superman to Pose by the Phone Booth.Once seated they give you hats to wear that say crazy things.it was time to call it a day and head to our Bed but before that a ride from the Turkish Taxi Boi around the city where I saw the Skater Boi.
included Breakfast at our Bed and Breakfast and a Skater Boi of course and Waiting in Line for hours to get our Comic Con passes then a trek to Tivoli the oldest bar in the Gaslamp district for some lunch where we happened upon our favorite bicycle taxi driver who is from Turkey. We then went to Hard Rock Hotel so that a friend could pick up some items in the gift shop for a friend of his in Indiana. While at the Hard Rock we came across some cool surfers. On our way back to the convention as it was getting time to open we passed a few shirtless guys and met Batman. We made it inside and ventured to the Funko Booth we had help set up the night before. The Giant Sleestak was there.
The Weekend Theater will be bringing us the play SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES August 22 thru September 6th.Southern Baptist Sissies is about love and acceptance for gays that have felt excluded from the church. The play ends with a message of hope that God loves us all.
I will be leaving for San Diego California in a few hours so this will be my last post for a week or maybe a week and a day.I attend Comic-Con every year. This year is especially nice because a friend of mine Kirk Demarais who lives here in Arkansas has a film that was selected for the Comic Con International Film Festival.I am excited to see the World Premiere of FOOT : PHANTOM OF THE FOREST.Mike Becker another good friend who founded the Bobblehead company Funko also worked on this film and will be in San Diego as well.Vance Reeser who did the animation and Jamey Clayberg who scored the film are also making the trip.I look forward to meeting them both.I don't take off much time from work so I am in need of some relaxation and fun.I will take lots of pictures and share lots next week.
